If your week is off to a predictable start, please take a time out with the digital surrealists of Worth1000. The site’s an ongoing gallery for online collage artists, and once more the contest revolves around flowers.

There are visual puns ("Bulb" is an enormous screw-in-able calla blossom) and an abundance of wheels, phones, umbrellas and (daffodil) horns. A surprising number of entries transform weapons and sports equipment into stems and blooms. (Take your cue from pineapplecharm’s “Pool.")
There have actually been four of these “Flower Swap” contests. “The rules of this game are thus: You are to take any object and replace it with any kind of flower (or vice versa). As always, quality is a must. We’ll remove poor entries no matter how much we like you. You’ll have 48 hours for this contest, so make your submission count.”
As one still flummoxed by the challenge of cropping, we’re dazzled by these feats of imagery. Thanks to all participants for providing a big “Wha??” today. Long may you click.

How ingenious people are! For me, the photos of two daffodils stood out - the desk lamp and the ballerina. But that might be because it’s spring here and that means daffodils.
Thanks, Julie.
